Today’s commercial lawn care industry is dated and processes and equipment for lawn care are very labor intensive. Therefore, companies active in this market face challenges with very high labor rotation (especially in countries with winter) and it is hard to keep quality consistent. There is a need for system change in how teams work with landscaping. An operator on a ride-on is expensive both in labor and equipment. Over-capacity is often needed due to weather situations (such as rain) when ride-ons should not be operated. Labor intensity is high and working conditions usually not good.

Additionally, users such as business complexes, hotels, and golf courses are seeking quiet solutions to solve noise-related issues.

Ride-ons require a massive amount of energy to mow and any maintenance of machinery requires educated staff. Additionally, overcapacity is needed to handle the problems with rain and wet surfaces that are desired to be avoided.

This leads to the question: WHY HAVEN’T THE STATIONARY ROBOTS BEEN WIDELY ADAPTED IN PUBLIC AREAS YET?

Well, key inhibitors for commercially viable robotic lawn mowers include the fact that the robots need a power grid connection, a 24/7 110/240V installation. Consequently, costly new high current power lines need to be installed and connected to safe power outlets in public parks, etc. Additionally, a single lawn surface area with a stationary robot mower limits the total mowing capacity to up to 5,000 m2. Finally, in many areas, there is vandalism and theft of the robots during evenings and night time.

Solutions

RLCS set out to solve the problems of a dated industry, while still finding a way to bypass the above-mentioned key inhibitors. We did so by inventing a system that is NOT dependent on a power grid connection and by enabling our robots to mow multiple surfaces, these identical but modified mowers can cover up to 28,000 m2, compared to the 5,000 m2 covered by a stationary mower. Lastly, by collecting the lawn mowers at the end of the day, the risk for theft and vandalism is minimized.

Lower costs

  Traditional ride-on produce noise levels of between 95-100 dB. With RLCS’s automated systems, levels will stay between 58-69 dB which is equivalent to that of an office environment. Safe

  The mowers move gently around the fields and the rotation stops immediately if lifted. The blades are also non-fixed and pivot from obstacles. The traditional mowers are a giant problem and the reason for approx. 80,000 injuries every year, involving both workers and 3rd parties. Unfortunately, about 650 of these accidents leads to amputations on children.

Environmentally friendly

  Zero emissions: Lawn equipment generates 5% of U.S. pollution. Our robots are emissions-free and only use 5% of the energy of a ride-on option. According to EPA statistics, one gas mower running for an hour emits the same amount of pollutants as eight new cars driving 55 mph for the same amount of time.

Weatherproof

  No more waiting for rain delays and crews that don't show up. The RLCS fleet mows every day and night if needed. No matter where you’re located you will be affected and the regional average spans from about 40 rain days in the southwest, up to around 160 rain days in some of the northern states.

Theft security

  All mowers are equipped with GPS trackers, viewable from your smartphone. A loud alarm will trigger when lifted and the connected phones are alerted in the app. The mowers are protected by a PIN code that also mates the specific mower with a matching grass area. To be able to move a mower, you have to insert the PIN code in order not to trigger the alarm.

Full control

  Get full control through the smartphone app. With as many smartphones as you need, you and your crew can monitor where all your robots are located, receive potential alarms, and even adjust the cut height through the app! You can even schedule specific activity hours during the day if needed.
